Brenda comes to MusicArtsDance films with over thirty years
experience in the performing arts in Australia, Canada and the
U.K. As an actor with experience in every medium, coupled with
her stage management, producing, business and writing skills,
she is well positioned to execute her role as Development Manager.
Brenda has been involved in the development of a diverse slate
of projects ranging from the soon to be released feature, The
Widower, through large format to the 12-minute television
pilot, Global Echoes featuring the Andean band Inka
Marka. She was assistant to Aanya
Whitehead and Kevin
Lucas on the award winning film, One Night The Moon and produced
the Making of One Night The Moon segment for the DVD
release.
At university, fuelled by a deep interest
in myth and symbol, Brenda commenced research into the nature
of the hero in Australian culture and how that is portrayed
on screen. The research interviews are currently being published
in Metro magazine and have been archived by Screen Sound Australia.
At present, Brenda is undertaking a Post Graduate Diploma (Theatre
Studies) at Melbourne University, which focuses on dramaturgy.
Brenda combines her skills and passion
for the arts in researching, writing and the development of
new projects. Her performance credits include, Evil Angels;
Don’s Party; Chances; The More Things Change; Father;
The Damnation of Harvey McHugh; The Far Country; The Man of
La Mancha; Blind Salome; Bellbird.
